New Merch’ Monday: Waverly Simple Scarf

In contemplating the random things I like, I find I contradict myself a bit.  For example, I’m horrible at making decisions, but I want options.  I dislike shag carpet, but I love the ’70s aesthetic.  Stretchy things make me happy, but spandex?  Notsomuch.

See?  Contradictions.  And yes, I’m going to tie this into scarves.  Chill.

The Waverly Simple Scarf has all three of the above-listed things I like oh so much, and this makes my job easy.  This guy has five colors to choose from, all of which look awesome together and would complement any outfit with their cool palette, and–get this–it stretches.

The scarf’s resting width is just over a foot, but you can pull the fabric to about double that with the sewn-in folds.  It’s really neat, actually.  A little entrancinglikeashinyobject confusing when you first see it, but super cool and smile-inducing.

Whether you need a pop of color (purple, pink, and teal), or a shook-up neutral (black and brown), this scarf has the option for you, all while adding a great texture to your outfit! High5s for everyone.

Weekly Blogosphere Roundup

I hope everyone had a foodful thankful Turkey Day!  Personally, I spent the day in my lovely grey scarf and just relished in the glory of gobble and the smell of rich mahogany.

It’s boring, but it’s part of my life.  Now!  On to what I found awesome this week:

I think we’ve decided that scarves on men are completely okay, but how do we feel about skirts?  (I believe practicers of the trend prefer the term “utilikilt.”)

Having found what works well for me, I really only wear my scarves one way.  But the chic girls over at Ladies Way Fashion Accessories have found some groundbreaking ways to shake up your ol’ scarf routine.  Didn’t know scarves could be groundbreaking?  Well, you must be new to this blog, friend!

Thought you drew some nice attention with your scarf?  Check out this look.  Not sure how I feel about it.  Little scared.  Hugely intrigued.

But that is not to say I am condoning such attire.

(Be careful where you click on that site, by the way.  You may come across something amazing.)

Have a freakin’ weekend!

New Merch’ Monday: Leopard Print Wrap

FSN-543BrownAre you an animal print kind of girl (or guy!)? I’d like to say that it is ingrained deep into my DNA. Some people are attracted to all things shiny, but I instead am pulled with a force akin to gravity toward leopard, cheetah, zebra or tiger print pieces.

Case in point: This past Halloween, as I performed the last-minute-costume-scrounge-up dance, I was able to compile an ensemble of head to toe cheetah print — from my shoes to my undergarments to my hair accessories…by far one of my proudest days. (college shmoledge!)FSN-543BlackModel

So when I got an eyefull of the Leopard Print Wrap, it was in my hand before I realized I had even moved in it’s direction. From there I became more smitten with every passing second. The Leopard Print Wrap is weightier and larger than your typical scarf (76″ long and 52″ wide, to be exact) and thus is beyond verstile. Open it up and wear it over your shoulders on a formal occasion, or don it scarf-scarf style to liven up an all black outfit. The material makes this piece ideal for traveling as it won’t wrinkle and is easily large enough to double as a blanket. I would even use this little lovely as a beach coverup!

Well, I know I’m convinced, but what about you? How would you wear it?!

Weekly Blogosphere Roundup

Happy Friday! Welcome to the Weekly Blogosphere Round-up! You demand an explanation? Well, calm down and take a listen — from now until forever, each Friday we’ll take a look the most notable fashion and scarf-related or particularly weird/awesome internet happenings of the week. Start your engines…

There’s Something on Your Head. Check out the third pic down. I’m not sure I understand…was it raining and he didn’t want his hair to deflate? Or perhaps it was particularly sunny and he didn’t want the product in his hair to melt? Or maybe (just speculation..highly unlikely) he did this on purpose in pursuit of a “look”?

Circular Reasoning. Ever wondered how to wear one those seemingly tricky loop (infinity, circle) scarves? Done and done.

No Grey Area. Bill Cunningham (the orginal streeet style photog with a voice like your grandpa) takes a look at the hottest color combo for fall. You have three guesses…

It’s all in the Details. It’s hitting that time of year when guilt comes along with making big purchases for yourself. (Although ironically, it’s the most tempting time of year with the constant shopping, huge sales and what not) This is quite the conundrum, as, for most, the season also happens to be party-central. Here is a lovely little style guide we think you’ll find elightening. We’ll get you started.

Looks we have a another warmish (50 degrees and up) weekend ahead in our neck of the woods, but no matter, scarf season it is! Will you be rockin’ yours, as well?

New Merch’ Monday: The Everyday Greenwich Scarf

First, let me say that I am a fan of gigantic pretty big scarves.  They have to have some major coverage for me to be sold.

grey

grey.

Or so I thought.

This Everyday Greenwich Scarf is awesome.  It’s a very medium size, but undoubtedly large enough to do exactly what I want it to; the ends hang long enough to not look stubby, and the gathering around the neck is… plentiful, for lack of a better word.

I’d tell you not to get me started on the texture, but it’s a worthless cause.  The scarf is deathly soft.  Maybe not “deathly,” perhaps “sleepily” is a better word.

black.

black.

The scarf is sleepily soft.  Makes me want to wrap my face in it and fall asleep.  Anyway.

It’s not one that fleece material; it’s more like your favorite cotton T-shirt.  But it’s no feather-weight.  This guy has some weight to it, and I love it.  It keeps you warm, without being too winter-y.

And with the slight pre-crinkles, this scarf has the perfect texture.  I’m not sure what other amazing things I can say about this one.  Love it like mad.  A staple in any closet.  Go get one!
