Hello, happy Friday! Before you begin one of the last weekends in July, check out the weekly roundup.

caaan you feeeel the love toniiiight?
So, Kate Hudson and A-Rod are no more. But what about A-Rod and Cameron Diaz. They aren’t official yet, but FirstClassFashionista has got the scoop. What do you think?
Chatty panties are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Thoughts? Personally, I think if you’re wearing the ones that say virgin…you probably don’t really have your v-card. Just sayin.’ Nor would I wear the ones that say “turn on” or “tap.” That’s kind of sleazy.
Did anyone see John Mayer’s YouTube vid mocking Lebron James. I know, I know, we haven’t gotten enough Lebron James information lately, have we? It’s funny though, promise.
Two ways to wear one dress, check it out. Don’t forgot how versatile an article of clothing can be, especially a simple scarf!

I learned to knit in the fall two years ago. I started a scarf and had the goal of finishing it in time for Christmas. I still haven’t completed the scarf. Due to my experience and expertise, I decided to give you some hints on knitting. That’s a joke…the expertise part, but I seriously do have some advice.
Don’t be a perfectionist. If you’re new to knitting, it probably won’t be perfect. Your rows might not line up perfectly, but that doesn’t mean each time a row doesn’t look perfect you should undo and redo it. That’s what I did and you see how quickly I made progress. In the grand scheme of things, once a scarf (or whatever you’re making) is finished, that missed stitch really won’t be too distracting.
Don’t make unrealistic goals. Here I was starting my scarf in the fall and saying it would be done by Christmas. I abandoned all hope on the scarf when I didn’t finish it in the allotted time I’d given myself. My goal should have been to simply finish the scarf, not to finish it by a certain date.
However, I’m not a knitting professional, so I sought advice from someone who is. Donna from Random Knits also has some advice for beginners.
Here it is:
My recommendation to new knitters is always to buy the best quality yarn and tools you can afford. Especially if you’re knitting scarves, because it’s so much nicer to have something soft and luscious against your neck!
Another tip to keep the edges of your scarf neat is to slip the first stitch of every row without knitting it – it makes a lovely straight edge!
So there you have it, words of wisdom for all of you knitters and knitter wannabes out there.

Can you believe there are only two more weeks in July? Please don’t let my summer end! Here’s your weekly roundup. Enjoy!
Real women, but they have to be flawless. You’ve probably seen the Dove campaigns that feature real women with real beauty. Well they are seeking out real women with real beauty for their next campaign…as long as they have flawless skin and no scars.
Do you ever feel the need to shop? Your bank account and logical side is telling you not to, but you just need something new? So did blogger, Kendie. But she decided to quit shopping for a month and do a 30 for 30. She was going to remix the same 30 articles of clothing for 30 days to make different outfits. It’s rather inspiring.
Do you send out a lot of e-mails? If so, then you should probably know about the worst e-mail habits or annoyances you should avoid such as the automatic “sent from my iPhone” message or writing “Cheers!” at the end of an e-mail.
Want more sleep in the morning? We all do. In this article, there are beauty tricks to get your morning routine down and let you snooze some more. Yes, please!
Have a great weekend!

Hey all! I hope you all had a great week after a (hopefully) relaxing holiday weekend and you’re ready for another (relaxing) weekend. But before you go, check out our weekly roundup!
Yay for knowledge! Check out this blog and you will be sure to improve your vocabulary in no time!

Meet me at Platform 9 3/4. After the recent release of the trailer for part one of the last HP movie EVER, I’ve had mixed feelings. On one hand, I cannot wait to see this movie. I’m bursting with excitement, but on the other hand I don’t know if I am ready to let go. Neither does Monika. How are you all taking it?
Stop trying to have it all. This blog helps you be content with your life, what you do have without trying to have it all. Very uplifting!
Sit down; let’s have some tea. Everyone loves tea, even celebrities! Try to match each celebrity to their favorite tea blend!
Hipster fashion cycle. This infographic shows the fashion cycle using a hat. Funny and kinda true stuff.
Have a great weekend!

Another week has come and gone! It seemed like a long one for me. I’m so ready to sleep! If anyone else feels drained from the week, then before you enter your blissful weekend, check out these blogs. They are all ones I’ve come across that make me smile and will probably make you happy too.

Stuff No One Told Me is a blog by illustrator, Alex Noriega. Try to go there and not smile. Just try.
Everyone loves love, right? This next blog, Le Love, is full of love stories, letters people write to their significant others, their exes and more. Some of them are sad, others are hopeful. A lot of them will give you warm fuzzies. Here is a pretty sweet one.
Anyone have a crazy mom? You know, she’s sweet, she means well; she’s your mom. But sometimes her being your mom doesn’t change the fact that she’s a little bananas or that her advice is outlandish. I came across this blog, where blogger Adam posts all the letters his mom has sent him since he left for college. This is hilarious stuff.
Last, but not least, you’ve written out letters to your future husbands right? Or at least written out all the traits you will look for in a mate. Dear Future Hubby is a comical blog in which a girl writes letters to her future hubby. The most recent? It’s about how her future hubby better be a musician. Mine too, wherever you are!
That’s all for now! Have a splendid weekend and wear your scarves!

We’ve watched little Dakota Fanning grow up right before our eyes. She started out as a cute little 9-year-old child star in the movies Uptown Girls and The Cat in the Hat and since had grown into a beautiful young lady. As cute and girly as Dakota is, she does have edge. Did you see how badass she looks in Push? Or how creepy/terrifying she looks in the Twilight movies? And speaking of, edge…
Nothing says edge more than that studded scarf. I love the look, especially on cutesy Dakota. Studs seem to be adorning everything lately, and that’s not a bad thing. So, you have two options.
1. Call Dakota, since she’s on your speed dial and all and ask her where she got her scarf
OR
2. The only logical option, get this scarf.
I recommend going with the Serena Studded T-Shirt Scarf. You won’t be let down.

Jamaican breeze, makes me feel good… Wait, those aren’t the lyrics? Well they should be changed to pay homage to the fun, the flirty, the fabulous Jamaican Breeze Scarf.
This scarf is the perfect solution for beating the summer heat. Its cool colors will take you seaside where it’s summertime and the living’s easy. The fringe ends add a little boho flair. Plus the light material will keep you feeling light and airy all summer long. Pair it with a tank or a little sundress and some strappy sandals and you’re ready to go.
Can’t find the time or the money for a luxurious Caribbean getaway? No worries, this scarf has all the luxury you need. Ya mon!

At the beginning of May, I was frantically packing for my trip to France. (which started the next day) I had made lists of what I needed and I thought I had everything that is commonly forgotten: toothbrush, camera, socks….you get it. However, there was something I did manage to forget; in fact, my friends seemed to forget this very important article of clothing as well. The fabric that instantly transforms you into a Parisian. SCARVES!
That’s right! None of us remembered to pack a scarf. Not only were we cold everywhere we went, but we stuck out like sore thumbs. I swear to you that everyone except us was wearing a scarf. Good thing we were in the mecca of the fashion world – Paris. So what did we buy first? Scarves. And everyone in our group continued to collect scarves until we made it home. And once we put on our scarves, we instantly looked french.. of course! (okay, not really, but we felt like it)

There we are on our first night with no scarves. Very sad, no? We were also without hair straighteners, as you can tell, but that’s a whole different fight to battle. This was the time we realized we were going to need to go shopping (In Paris. Bummer, right?) to get scarves.

So here we are with our scarves. Of course, we looked tres chic once we had the scarves. Even the scarf on purse look is rockin’.

Even this guy said we looked french. And he was legit. Do you think it was the scarves? Anyway, my moral of the story is that if everyone in France wears scarves, then you probably should too. After all, it is the fashion capital.

Call me crazy, but I love Aerosmith. More specifically, I love their larger-than-life frontman, Steven Tyler. You know, dude looks like a lady? He knows how to rock, he’s Liv Tyler’s father and he doesn’t take the stage without his iconic scarf-tied microphone stand.

Mr. Tyler has been using his trademarked mic since well before I was born, but where did he get such a genius idea? As it turns out, in the early Aerosmith days, he had a favorite scarf he would always wear in his hair. When it started to get worn out (literally) he couldn’t part with his favorite accessory. His solution? Tie it to his microphone stand. And there you have it, ladies and gentleman, the scarf mic stand was born. Sounds like a great decorative use for an old scarf, doesn’t it?
This look has even inspired other artists to put their personality into their microphones. Mariah Carey is all about the glitter mic while Rihanna likes her microphones a little more medieval.
Who knew a scarf could change the face of rock ‘n roll?

Remember when Mandy Moore came out in the ’90s? You know… So Real, Candy, I Wanna Be With You… Everyone loved her. Then she was in A Walk to Remember, the movie that broke my 12-year-old heart. Later she dated Andy Roddick and Zach Braff, which kind of makes me jealous. Her newest album, Amanda Leigh, was released in 2009. Did anyone get it? I didn’t, but I think it’s definitely worth a listen. The girl has got some pipes. In addition to her acting and singing career, Mandy used to have her own fashion line, Mblem. Though that line stopped, Mandy says she would like to get back into the fashion world and I’m sure she will. I recently came across this picture…

..and I happen to think she is clutching that scarf for a reason. Who would want it to get away? I love tie-dye. It makes her look free spirited, but not quite like some peace-lovin’-hippie. (not that there is anything wrong with being peace lovin’ or a hippie) I’m not sure where Mandy got her scarf or how much she paid for it, but I know where to get one that is similar for a price that I can almost guarantee is less.
The Emelia Tie-Dye Scarf is 100% cotton, making it lightweight and a perfect option for summer. It’ll give you that free-spirited look Mandy has with less of the cost. This scarf comes in four different color combinations and is easy to pair with outfits. This treasure could be yours for just $15.26 and then you will be sure to clutch your scarf the way Mandy is, but I won’t judge.
