New Merch’ Monday: Wave Crinkled Scarf

pink cotton scarf

quite neck-worthy

When it comes to textures, that which you put around your neck seems like it should have first dibs at the raddest option.  Conveniently, we have scarves for that.

The Wave Crinkled Scarf is of the raddest texture, making it quite neck-worthy.  The perfectly patterned wrinkles are confusingly permanent, taking the fabric from simply material to an actual item of clothing.

Available in white, coral, and turquoise, this soft scarf is built for variety–a perfect topper for a multitude of outfits.  And with its lightweight cotton material, it is easy to throw on with your monotones for an attractively carefree look.

The Wave is a medium-sized scarf, at nearly six feet long and two feet wide.  Enough to cover you up and be present, but not big enough to weigh a girl down.  That’s what handbags are for.

New Merch’ Monday: Morgan Infinity Scarf

beige tan infinity circle scarf

so many secrets.

Rocking the oversized cardigans and free-as-a-bird curly hair lately, I have grown fond of carefree styles I’m not worried about messing up.  When I find a piece I know looks great and is completely comfortable, I am all about it.

The Morgan Infinity Scarf is one such item.  The super-soft fabric makes for an unconscious rub-on-the-face-type meeting when you first pick it up.  You can’t always just state something’s softness; sometimes, ya just gotta feel it.  With your face.  And maybe that part of your leg just below your knee, but on the back side?  You know what I’m talking about?  So soft.

Spawning from the marriage of easy-but-not-sleazy circle scarves and minimal embellishment, this muted scarf is made for everyday.  When something is as effortless as a circle scarf you can’t clash with anything (I’m not talking about the green option; be careful with that one), a new best friendship is bound to be made.

And yes, my scarves are my friends.  They hang so close to my hair where I keep all my secrets, we have to be tight.  Sticks and stones.

A slight texture keeps the scarf from disappearing, and the gathered fringe gives a worn-in look, which is perfect for when you don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard.  Which is never.  Because you are the stuff of which rock stars are made.  And the Morgan just wants to hang, mayn.

New Merch’ Monday: Cassidy Ruffle Scarf

There is a delicate balance of girly and casual required to come off as neither, and some items embody that exact balance.

seersucker scarf

Cassidy Ruffle Scarf :: $14.49

The Cassidy Ruffle Scarf is soft enough it almost feels cool, like the other side of the pillow, but it is still 50% cotton, which is an automatic casual-making factor.  On the other hand, it looks like one long, loose ruffle, and is, thus, girly.

But not too much.

The seersucker stripe gives a very specific aura, which is an unfortunate statement, as the exact aura is hard to describe.  Seersucker invokes free feelings of yachting, ice cream, and general good times, and a lightweight material is key to achieving those feelings.

This scarf just makes it happen.

The Cassidy can be tossed around your neck as you’re running out the door to add some depth to your outfit, but it won’t weigh you down at all.  And in pale grey, blue, or pink, there is a color option for anyone.

Which is perfect, because everyone likes yachting, ice cream, and general good times.  Right?  And kittens.

New Merch’ Monday: Madeline Linen Scarf

Some things are made more awesome simply by their name.  And sometimes, the pronunciation of the awesome name can even magnify said awesomeness.

yellow linen scarf

Madeline Linen Scarf

If the lightweight, breezy nature of this scarf doesn’t get you, the name will.  Pronounced “Mad-uh-line,” this scarf will not only complete your look, it will make you feel brilliantly English.

Brilliant!

Plus, it’s 100% linen, which makes me feel privileged anyway.  Though thin, the Madeline definitely has a presence it, which is nice for cooler summer days and pretty much every summer night.

Following the summer theme, the ends of the scarf are adorned in embroidered flowers (they appear to be daisies, but I’m no botanist) and little, flat studs,  They’re not punky studs, Mrs. Brady, so don’t get turned off by them; they actually add a really nice, modern accent to the detailing, she said, gesturing to the scarf with mannequin hands, secretly pretending she’s on QVC.

Available in two pretty, pastel colors, the Madeline Linen Scarf is an easy way to add some light color to your outfit, and boost your mood.  Cute things always boost moods.  I have graphs that prove it.

New Merch’ Monday: Madison Print Scarf

white floral scarf

Color me re-enchanted.

Despite the thousands of variations, there usually isn’t much interest piqued by floral prints.  Maybe that there are so many options and a never-ending supply of them is the reason we’re disenchanted by the idea of floral prints.

Whether it’s the color combinations or the print itself, the Madison Print Scarf has caught my eye.  A floral scarf that isn’t so “floral-y,” the Madison is a nice break from the super-girly stereotype associated with flowers.

The mixing of a vintage-looking print with cool, current color combinations and an understated check pattern is what makes this lightweight scarf unique.

Plus, the tiny fringe at the ends is a point of interest.  It’s under an inch long, giving a low-key vibe by having the unfinished look of fringe, but not complicating the check/flower pattern by being too much.

checkered/floral :: rad/awesome

Lightweight enough to be worn through the summer months, the Madison Print Scarf will also transition well to the colder months, due to its size.  Its dimensions aren’t worthy of sarong status, but at six-and-a-half feet long and nearly three feet wide, it is certainly a good sized scarf.

If you’re not big on too-girly accessories, but want to give the floral thing a try, give the Madison a shot.  Even when you tell someone what your new, checkered scarf (that just happens to have some rad flowers on it) is called, you still don’t have to say “floral.”  You’re welcome.

New Merch’ Monday: Hayley Circle Scarf

You know those things that just make you go, “Ooh, kewl”?  The Hayley Circle Scarf happens to be one of those things.

striped circle scarf

Hayley Circle Scarf

It’s a circle scarf, which is something many people are still getting used to, it features a punchy combination of black and either blue, pink, or tan, and it MOVES.

I mean, not literally.  It’s not living or possessed or anything (though that would be awesommme), but the stripes are actually tiered flaps of fabric, so they expose the black underneath when turned every-which-way.

The loose fabric strips give almost a ribbon-esque effect, and the softness of the material keeps the scarf from looking clown-ish.  The silky, stretchy material also feels awesome against your neck, but that, of course, comes second to the way it looks.

The Hayley is big enough to have a strong presence, but not too big that you don’t know what to do with it.  It’s one of those balance things.

New Merch’ Monday: Reversible Loop Scarf

patterned loop circle scarf

funky fresh, dressed to impress

If you’re like me and you keep your wardrobe pretty low-key, you probably already know the importance of owning a stand-out pieces.

Allow me to introduce to you the Reversible Loop Scarf.  This beauty might take a second look, because it could easily be looked over due to what could be seen as its “too too much” pattern.

Semi-amorphous circles (that’s not an oxymoron; back off) on one side, and ANIMAL PRINT on the other, the Reversible Loop Scarf contains quite the pattern combination.  And whether you put the circles or the leopard on the outside is your prerogative, fancy pants.

patterned loop circle scarf

conspicuous combination

Size-wise, this scarf is giant.  It is the ideal circle scarf, as there is not a lot of room between the two loops, which is a conundrum I am always fighting when wearing these trendy little numbers.

And no matter what color scheme you’re looking for, you’ll be able to make one of the three options work for you.  Because this scarf has so much color in it, though I wouldn’t specifically describe it as “colorful,” there is a combination to please everyone.

For those of your looking to add a lightweight, yet high-coverage accessory to the rotation, definitely give the Reversible Loop scarf a shot, and consider your outfits instantly punched up.

New Merch’ Monday: Ariel Circle Scarf

pink blue creme circle scarf

I wanna be... where the people are.

Calling all Little Mermaid fans!  We now have THE perfect way to indulge in our I’m-a-mermaid daydreams without looking like a crazyperson.

The name is no accident, my friends.  The Ariel Circle Scarf is, indeed, named after everyone’s favorite mermaid, with colors to dive for.

(Get it?  Dive?  Ariel’s a swimmer.  Because she’s part fish.  Yeah, she lives in the water.  Yes.  Mermaid.)

With sparkly fabric woven throughout, the Ariel possesses a slight sheen which makes it look like the sunshine is glistening off your mertail.  I mean, scarf.  I guess it depends on around which limb(s) you wrap it.

But let’s not get technical.

There are two color options for the Ariel, both of which are beautiful ombré mixes of sea-inspired hues, and the circle shape adds to the fluidity of the entire look.

Whether you are a mermaid obsessive, or you just happen to dig the colors, the Ariel Circle Scarf is a complement to any wardrobe.  Throw it over a neutral outfit when you’re strolling along, down the… what’s that word again?  Streeeet. SING IT.

New Merch’: Maui Tie-Dyed Scarf

With tie-dyed looks making a huge comeback in recent seasons, we know there are right and wrong ways to do this trend.

orange tie dye scarf

Orange Crush

Some additions of tie-dyed pieces–such as a rainbow-spiraled T-shirt, pink tie-dyed Crocs, multi-colored Hammer harem pants–should be avoided, but there are certainly some really low-risk ways to incorporate this look into one’s wardrobe without the flower-power vibe taking over.

The Maui Tie-Dyed Scarf is one such way, in three colors: green, yellow, and orange (one color per option), and they are cool, almost muted tones, so as to not be too poppy or distracting.

Keeping with the laid-back vibe, the material is refreshingly lightweight and even has an “Oh, this old thing?” crinkle to it, making it perfect for the beach or pool.  And even when you’re not at the water, it’s a good way to remind you of it.

Disclaimer: We assume no responsibility for daydreaming nor distractions caused by the inevitable thoughts of laying out by the water induced by staring at/unconsciously stroking your Maui Tie-Dyed Scarf.

The Maui allows you to start slowly on the tie-dye look, and I definitely think it’s worth a shot.  So who among you is brave enough to give it a shot?

New Merch’ Monday: Kendra Striped Scarf

Summer has arrived.  I can’t deny it anymore, but I still can’t leave my scarves behind.  Whether it’s my innate inclination to wear layer after layer or that I can’t quite let go of the crisp-aired weather, it’s looking like scarves will be a permanent fixture in my summer wardrobe.

Thankfully, we have beauties such as the Kendra Striped Scarf.  The Kendra has a breeziness that embodies every aspect of it.  That sounds like a really intense way to describe a scarf, but stay with me.  From the lightweight fabric, to the sweet stripes, reminiscent of slower, less serious days, this scarf is ready to be your summer’s most reliable fling.

pink purple green striped scarf

The Kendra caught my eye with its adorable color combinations.  Pastel without apology, the colors blend surprisingly well.  Plus, with a touch of faded glory to the stripes, the scarf avoids being too much.

Keeping with the carefree motif, the texture is perfect for summer.  It’s a lightweight scarf, plus, it’s wide enough so you don’t have to wrap it around your neck twice like skinny scarves.  It can also be used as a striped sarong for those of you lucky enough to get to head to the beach.

Looking forward to some warm months ahead, you can rest assured keeping the Kendra Striped Scarf close at hand will be one of the better wardrobe decisions made this summer.  Am I right, capri pants?
